How to get diaper blowout out
Poop up the back is protein, bile pigment and fat. The bright yellow of breastfed poop is the stubborn part.
Do this first
Scrape off solids into the toilet
Fresh stain
- Scrape off solids into the toilet
- Run cold water hard through the back of the stain
- Gently work in enzyme remover or a laundry bar
- Soak in cold water with oxygen bleach 1 hour or more
- Wash warm, then lay damp whites in the sun
Dried or old
- Soak overnight in oxygen bleach
- Wash, then sun-dry
- Repeat the sun step on another day if a yellow shadow is left
- Fabric care
- Wash separately from other laundry. Sun fades coloured prints, so turn those inside out.
- Time
- 1 h to overnight
- How to tell
- Look: yellow, mustard, green or brown; Feel: pasty, then crusty; Smell: obvious
